Life File: New York Travel Diary

Today I want to take you on a little New York tour of the days I spent in this incredible city a few weeks ago and highlight some places I visited that I really liked. As some of you know, I went down to visit my best friend from College and attend some shows I was invited to. It was a bit of a last minute and short trip (Friday to Tuesday) but I’m glad I jumped at the opportunity because I had a great time! (who doesn’t have a great time in NYC though?!).
I kicked the weekend off with Club Monaco‘s presentation, an event filled with flowers, food, drinks and of course, fashion. I spotted lots of celebrities (can you believe I basically rubbed elbows with Grace Coddington???) Surreal! I felt in love with many of their pieces (how not to!?) and some of my faves included this top (so feminine), these pants (great for Summer) and this (very boho). I spent the next days walking all over the city, meeting with friends over brunch and crashing at 9pm out of exhaustion, the good kind though 🙂 Sunday was the J.Crew presentation which was very intimate, something I loved because it made the experience more personal. I’m really looking forward to seeing (and maybe buying?) some of the pieces this Fall… yes, already have my eye on a few 😉
Below are some highlights of the trip, just a few places I thought was worth mentioning, in case you ever find yourself looking up places to eat or shop 😉
PLACES TO EAT:
Epistrophy: I’ve been there twice and the food didn’t disappoint. First time there had the burrata salad and it was delicious. Second time there I ordered the avocado toast with egg and it was incredible. Probably one of the best avocado toasts I’ve had.
Seamore’s: It was highly recommended to me by various friends but unfortunately I didn’t have time to go. Next time for sure! (the menu is great even for vegetarians!).
Pietro: A super small but equally cute pink spot in Nolita. I ordered eggs and toast and while the presentation of the food was not exactly very special, it was delicious. The girl sitting next to me ordered pancakes and they looked amazing.
The Butcher’s Daughter: You can definitely tell I’m a fan of eggs and avocado because I also ordered that here. Their menu is filled with healthy eats and the place is super cute.
Ladurée: There’s no better way to do high tea than here. The place is utterly chic and french and if the weather permits I highly recommend sitting in the patio.
Dominique Ansel: My friend Tee took me here right before leaving for Toronto and the cookie I ordered was out of this world. Very sweet but good!

WHERE I SHOPPED:

Illesteva: I love this brand and I couldn’t resist checking out their sunglasses. I bought a pair (these in tortoise) and have been receiving lots of compliments lately 🙂

And Other Stories: My friend Siffat introduced me to this store and I absolutely loved it! Very affordable clothing and cool accessories, why didn’t I know about it?! Next time in NYC you should check it out!
