Tips File: Increasing Productivity & Keeping an Organized Workspace

Today I want to share some tips on staying organized in your workspace and what you can do to increase productivity and stay focused on the tasks that need to be done. It might be heavily related to the fact that I’m a Virgo, but I personally can’t properly focus if the space where I’m working at is not neat. I also like to have everything I need handy and I love love love making lists. Seriously, is there a better feeling than crossing off tasks from your to-do list? I even write things I initially forgot but got done just to cross them off. I think this helps you visualize how you have invested your time and what you have accomplished, don’t you think?

Right now, the three most important things that keep me organized (and sane!) are:
1. The whole Meg Biram GSD notepad collection: This set is seriously amazing and if you’re a control freak and an organized girl, you’ll love this! This has changed the game for me in the best possible way. I can easily keep track of tasks, see an overall scope of the things I need to get done, and focus focus focus!! I highly recommend it 🙂
2. Notebooks for each job I have: Separating jobs by notebooks is the best thing you can do to stay organized. Everything I need to know about one job/company (and the blog) is in one notebook and one notebook only, so whenever I’m working on a task I just pull out that notebook and keep it handy.
3. A small monogrammed jotter: Here I write my to-do’s for the day and I take it with me anywhere I go, otherwise I simply forget what I’m supposed to do. I usually make a to-do list the night before so that when I sit down the next morning I can start getting things done right away 🙂 Sometimes I even draw a little star next to the tasks that are a priority or I even number them in the order I should get them done. The one that I have is from Graphic Image and I love that you can keep blank pages in a little pocket it has in the middle and the fact that you can personalize it 😉

I also use my phone to write down appointments on the calendar, and if I don’t do it, you can be certain that I won’t be showing up because if it’s not there I won’t remember about it! In my defense, it’s not that I have bad memory, I just have too many things going on! 😉

Now in terms of organization, I summarized my top tips at the end of the post, check it out and let me know if I missed anything? 🙂

The ballpoint pens from Poppin are amazing!
I like to keep this key tag that says “Do Your Best” in sight 😉
