Food File: Nut free granola bars

A couple of days ago I shared these on Instagram and some of you were asking for the recipe, but since I rarely measure my ingredients, I had to take notes the following time I made them, so here it is 🙂

Making granola bars is seriously the easiest thing to do, you just throw it all in a bowl, press it down on a baking pan, bake it, cut it and that’s it. It’s just as easy as it sounds, trust me. This recipe is an adaptation to my usual bars because now that Matthew goes to Jr. Kindergarten he can’t take anything with nuts in his lunch bag to school. So here’s a nut-free granola bars recipe:

What you need:
– 2 weetabix bars (crushed)
– 1/2 cup quinoa flakes (if you don’t have it just replace it with oats)
– 3/4 cups oats
– 1 tsp. cinnamon
– 1 tbsp. flaxmeal
– 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
– 1 tbsp. ground chia seeds
– 1/2 cup raisins
– 12 dried apricots cut into small pieces
– 1 tbsp. raw honey
– 1 1/4 cups unsweetened applesauce

What to do:
. Mix all ingredients in the same order as above.
. Press down onto a square baking pan.
. Bake for 20 min at 350.
. Let cool and cut into squares or bars.
