Today I’m getting back at Amna and Sundeep who asked if I could share more about blazers and the options currently available online. I think that whether you work in a corporate environment or not, blazers are definitely a closet must-have. They are incredibly versatile and work with absolutely everything: shorts, jeans, pencil skirts, pants, dresses, you name it. Day, night, casual, dressy, they instantly give you a sophisticated and polished look.
If you ask me if this is something you should splurge on I’d say it depends. Even though it’s a closet staple, ask yourself how much would you wear it and how much are you willing to spend on it. While I believe that every woman should own a great fitting black blazer, your lifestyle and budget is ultimately what’s going to determine how much you should spend on it. Although good quality, fit and exquisite attention to detail go a long way, if it’s going to sit in your closet and not on your shoulders, where’s the point on splurging?
I personally am a fan of collarless blazers with a modern twist like leather lapels or tuxedo cuts. For affordable yet good pieces I like the ones from Topshop, but if you’re looking for the whole great looks, high quality and amazing fit package I highly recommend Two Penny Blue. I also hear tons of great stuff from Helmut Lang and Theory in case you want to check them out too 😉
