Best Fall Staples to Own

If there are two items I consider Fall staples are a classic ivory sweater you can rely on for any circumstance, and a good piece of plaid, be it a pair of pants, a great scarf or a chic blazer. A cozy white cable-knit sweater is definitely something everyone should have in their closets as it basically plays the same role as a white tee shirt; you can wear it with anything and easily dress it up or down with the right pieces and accessories. I got this one (also sold here) recently and have been wearing it non-stop as it is super soft, falls at the right place and it’s not itchy at all (plus, as a classic it goes with everything). If you’re on the lookout for more options I found this one for less than $50, this one for a bit more, and this one.

There’s no question that plaids and Fall go hand in hand if you’re looking for a great pair of plaid pants, these Madewell ones (also sold here) are a great option, I absolutely love them! I did end up getting them hemmed as they were a bit too long for me (and not exactly cropped as they say they are) and really wanted them to be slightly shorter, but other than that, they fit perfectly. They also come in this warm mustard colour that is great for the season, and there’s a style without front pleats in case you prefer them like that. They are easy to wear with sneakers and a denim jacket or with booties/heels and a form fitting top (perhaps a black turtleneck bodysuit?) Two other plaid pants I really love include this one and this one, and if you’re looking for a blazer, I did a post here where I shared tons of options at different price points.
