Blog Series: In my Makeup bag

This week Hannah from  Champagne Style on a Beer Budget is sharing with us her favorite makeup products. Make sure to visit her blog to learn how she has a champagne lifestyle by living on a budget and tackling the occasional DIY.

What’s your current makeup bag?
My current makeup bag is an old Betsey Johnson that has surely seen its days. I’m definitely in the market for a new one and I’m loving this one right now in white/gold. It’s very Kate Spade-esque and for a fraction of the price at $4.80! I’d rather spend my money on what’s going IN the makeup bag rather than the makeup bag itself ;).

Do you have a makeup tip or secret you would like to share?
Contour, contour, contour. You can make your nose any shape you like and add cheekbones with the right amount of dark in the right places. Also, when applying moisturizers and makeup always be sure to stroke up and away to prevent wrinkles. Rubbing anything on your face in a downward motion is never a good habit and can cause wrinkles.

Any particular makeup trend that you’re looking forward for summer?
I love that you can get away with brighter lipsticks in the summertime. You can bet I’ll be rocking fuschia, neon pink and orange all summer long! I have to say another thing I love is that with summer (and a good tan) you don’t have to wear quite as much face makeup.

How does your day makeup routine differs from your night time one?
During the day I will wear much lighter eye makeup and go with neutral lip colors. (Baby Lips is my favorite go-to daytime lipwear.) At night, I will swap the eyeliner with black gel liner, layer on the mascara, and add a smoky eyeshadow. If I don’t do a smoky eyeshadow, I will compensate with a bold lipcolor. (Bold lips on a night out are must-try for every girl!)
