Blog Series: In my Makeup Bag

Today, Kirsten, from one of my favorite blogs, Triple Max Tons, is sharing her favorite makeup products. I really enjoy reading her blog, and she’s a charm, so make sure to check it out!

What’s your current makeup bag?
I keep all my makeup goodies stashed in a colorful weekender-style make-up bag from Target. It really helps keep the products I like clean, in sight, and used! I always used to get so bummed when I found an expired (and expensive) eyeshadow or powder stuffed in the back of a drawer because it got lost in the fray. I organize my make-up within each one of the 5 interior pockets so I can easily find what shade/item I am looking for. It also helps keep my morning routine to 10 minutes!

Do you have a makeup tip or secret you would like to share?

It’s not new or particularly shocking, but ALWAYS wash your face before bed! Even when you are dog tired, at least do a once-over with a make-up removing wipe from Ponds or whatever you prefer. But really, washing your face takes minutes and your skin will thank you for it.  I also really recommend the Clarisonic system – my face feels exfoliated and fresh after that little brush gets it buzz on!

Any particular makeup trend that you’re looking forward for spring?
Well, I am still crushing on lipstick! After so many years of gloss that my hair would inevitably get stuck in, I am loving a matte, bright lip. I’ve been looking for a soft coral color for a while, in addition to a great peachy pink blush that doesn’t O.D. on shimmer.

How does your day makeup routine differs from your night time one?
In all honesty, it doesn’t really! I don’t visit crazy dance clubs and Austin is a pretty casual city, so I usually wear whatever I wore during the day. I might swap out my signature Warby Parker specs for contacts and swipe on a fresh coat of eyeliner. That’s about it!

* Thanks so much Kirsten! I couldn’t agree more with washing your face before going to bed, I always do, no matter how late it is and how tired I am 😉 And I’m so tempted to get a Clarisonic, so many bloggers talk wonders about it!
