Decor & Interiors File: One Room Challenge Reveal

Hi everyone!! Time to reveal the room makeover! I can’t even begin to tell you how an awfully simple makeover turned into an odyssey, seriously, there’s a looong story behind every single task and right up until yesterday I was still painting, hanging frames, taking photos, editing….the whole shenanigans! I also feel like I need to give some sort of Oscars acceptance speech, and not exactly because I feel like a winner, but because there were a lot of people involved in getting this whole space done. People who shared their opinion, people who physically helped me, people who listened to the “Makeover Saga” (as I ended up calling it) updates, yeah, I wouldn’t even make it halfway to the speech before the “wrap it up” music would start playing 😉

Anyway, I’m suuuper happy with the results, and even though nothing looks professionally done (trust me, it’s way far from it), the learning experience was totally worth it, plus, nothing like the satisfaction from getting things done by yourself instead of having to pay someone to do it, not that there’s anything wrong with that, but if you’re a doer you know what I mean 😉

Alright alright, let’s get to the reveal shall we? Without further ado, here are some side-by-side before and afters:

I couldn’t get the bench I wanted (remember? this one), so I had to come up with a plan B at the very last minute (yes, imagine my stress!) and ended up moving that wooden number I own.

I absolutely love how calm the entry feels compared to the very busy one I had before, which by the way, was probably one of the worst decorating ideas I have ever pulled off. Getting rid of those spots was 1,000 times more difficult than painting them and the worst part is that they are not 100% gone.

If you’re wondering where the hell is the round mirror I so much talked about there’s an explanation. After getting ready and panicking over the steps of taking a glued mirror down (gotta love handyman youtube videos right?!), and after putting up the wallpaper, I realized I didn’t have enough to cover the whole wall, and with little time to order (wasn’t even sure if it’s still available), I had no choice but to keep the existing one. Good news is that I have another place for it, so my round mirror dreams will come true, just in another space.

What’s your overall impression? I really like the change and I’m glad I joined this edition of the ORC because to be honest, I had been dying to make this happen 🙂 Let’s take a look at more photos and details! And don’t worry, I’ll tell you all about the hiccups in another post!
