Decor & Interiors File: One Room Challenge Week 4

Can’t believe we are on week 4 of the One Room Challenge!!! Where is time going??? Ok ok, let’s not panic, although I did encounter some hiccups last week (details in a second), I will make some serious progress by the end of this week thanks to some lovely friends and family who are lending their hands, yay!

So, I chose my white paint, which if you have ever chosen white paint you know how difficult it is, right? So many freaking shades it’s insane! Thank Goodness I have two sweet and talented interior decorators in my life who don’t mind I bug them all the time with questions (that’s you Natalie and Jacquelyn, thanks for always sharing your thoughts!). So, I asked Natalie for some of her fave white paint colors and she suggested Benjamin Moore White Dove. No more questions asked, I went to to the store and picked up that color in Benjamin Moore’s Natura Line, which I highly recommend. Dries incredibly fast (you have no idea how many times I leaned on the fresh paint and thought I had messed it all up and it was fine!! Seriously in a matter of minutes!) and after just two hours you can apply the second coat. Ohh and it’s true, it doesn’t smell at.all.

I also did some research and the three most favorited white paints for interiors are: White Dove (Natalie’s go-to, Oxford White (Jacquelyn’s go-to) and Chantilly Lace, see below:

Now, about that hiccup….well, getting rid of the spots turned out to be a bit more difficult than I thought. I have textured white walls people, textured!!! Which means I have to sand the whole entry! And I didn’t get around it this weekend because Matthew had one of his terrible asthma episodes Saturday night and I have to wait until the cough is all gone and probably do it early in the morning while he’s at school and cover with drop sheets as much as I can to prevent any other attacks.
Here’s how is looking like:
I also took down all the frames from the bathroom, filled the wholes and need to sand before I put the wallpaper. Also received all lighting fixtures, yay! Look how gorgeous this pendant is:

And also managed to figure out the gallery wall, ordered all prints and have them here ready to be framed! Next up:
– Sand and paint wall.
– Hang Wallpaper
– Change Lighting fixtures
– Buy faucet and pulls for bathroom
– Frame and hang all art
– Hang Mirror
– Find art for bathroom (scarf is sold out!!!)
– Accessorize!

Alright, hope to get lots done this week! Don’t forget to check out the rest of the participants!
