Decor & Interiors: One Room Challenge

Today I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be taking part in the latest edition of the One Room Challenge! Yeap, starting today, every Wednesday I’ll be sharing updates on how I “transform” my guest bathroom into something nice 😉 As you can see, there’s nothing special about it, at all. But, I have plans for this “room” and let’s cross fingers that it turns out well because this girl knows nothing about interior design and decor! So, this will definitely be a challenge!

I chose the guest bathroom because, well, besides being the smallest room (wink wink), is the one that I have done nothing to it. Everything else in the apartment is halfway there, but this bathroom is just a naked canvas. As you enter the bathroom, you have the shower to your right (no pictured) and to your left is the sink and toilet. I’m not touching the shower as it has some nice white subway tiles. As for the rest, the changes are not major (I’m not demolishing anything), but I do believe that they will transform this into a nice bathroom 😉

First, let me show you the inspiration for this makeover:

And now, let me show you how my bathroom looks like and the plan:

I’m not a big fan of the floor, so, I’m going to paint the walls black and fill up this wall (which faces the door) from top to bottom with frames in different sizes and finishes of prints I’ve already been collecting, plus some more I need to get (I’m going for that first inspiration photo look!)

To match the rest of the pieces, I’m going to paint this cabinet white, and change those pulls for some brass hardware (all the hardware in this bathroom is silver and the plan is to replace it with some nice brass pieces). As for the gallery wall, I gave you a peek on Instagram (as you can see I still have a long way to go) but a whole post on the art pieces will come soon! In the meantime, here’s what I’m looking at for this “room”:

So, in a nutshell: black walls, white furniture, brass accents, and some prints (wall, towels, rug). What do you think? I’m all ears for suggestions! Please make sure to check out the rest of the bloggers participating, these are real talented people!
