When my friend Aylin told me about her idea of running braid workshops months ago, I couldn’t help but dream about throwing an afternoon with some of my lovely friends and learn the basics of braiding while enjoying some sweet treats and good conversation. With our busy schedules I honestly thought we were not going to be able to make this happen, but with Heidi on board to document it and the sweet girls from Smithery Style kindly providing their space to host it, the pressure was on 🙂
I reached out to some lovely people who kindly contributed and made this possible, and as you can imagine, with the talent of people like Le Dolci, Paula Lee and Emily from Thread and Blooms on board, we were over the moon to put this together 🙂
We had a lovely afternoon learning three basic braid styles: french, dutch and fishtail. My favourite was the dutch braid but in all honesty I’ll need more practice before I can master a decent look. In my opinion, the fishtail was the easiest and most relaxing to do, although it takes longer than the other two. Please scroll down for LOTS of photos (it was so hard to narrow them down, I apologize in advance for the overload!), and if any of you are interested in attending a workshop, leave a comment or shoot me an email; if we find that there’s enough interest we would consider throwing one for you guys 🙂 Or, if you feel like hosting one of your own (wouldn’t this be a great idea for a bachelorette? reach out to Aylin 😉
