DIY File: Valentine’s Day Cupcake Toppers

Here’s a super simple Valentine’s Day craft idea that you can whip up in less than 30 min! I made these for our Valentine’s Day tea and I think they added a bit of charm to some of our treats. Sometimes a little something can go a long way you know? It’s all in the details as they say 😉
All you need is:
. Cardstock paper in the color of your choosing (I used light pink)
. Scissors
. Short sticks (I used lollipop sticks!)
. Glue
. Marker
To make them you start with a template and if you’re not very good at drawing like myself, here’s a trick that works like a charm: Find an image on the web that you like (I used the image of this super cute set for mine), take the brightness of your monitor to the fullest, place a sheet of paper on top and trace the shape! Easy peasy!
Next you’re going to use that as your template to cut out all your shapes. Using a marker (I used a super fine white marker) trace an outline on one side of two different lips (you’re going to glue them together so you want the outline to be visible on both sides). Next up is gluing the sticks in the center of one of your lips and placing another one on top to seal it. Wait until it’s completely dried and you’re done! Of course you can get all creative and do different shapes, like arrows, hearts, etc 😉
