Fashion File: The Ultimate Guide to Looking Winter-Chic

Happy Friday everyone! This time around Winter has really put everything to test with its low temperatures and snow, so much snow! But you know what? You don’t necessarily have to compromise comfort and warmth to look put together and chic. Annnd you can definitely trust your go-to parka, as in my opinion, it’s all in the details, and those details I’m talking about are accessories.

If you’re the classic gal that wears neutrals, stick to a good hat, and perhaps opt for one with some flair like a faux fur pom-pom? Or you can even go with a striped one to add some pattern to the equation. If you dress more on the girly side then go for some embellishment like in this beanie.

A great pair of shades is key and while you will note the difference between good quality and cheap versions, you really can’t tell from the simple look of them. Just as I have spotted cool high-end brand sunglasses on others, I have too, made compliments on people wearing shades from Forever 21, Loft, Aldo to name a few. This is why I included different price points, but if you’re looking for more, here’s a complete guide to Sunglasses 🙂

For scarves, you can go three ways: keep the look monochromatic and choose one the same colour as your jacket, go with a pattern to add some interest (plaid, leopard, stripes), or pair a contrasting colour that either makes a statement or effortlessly completes the look.

A cross body bag is essential to keep your hands free and with all the layers you’re probably wearing, I bet is the most practical option, right? There’s nothing more frustrating than a tote that keeps falling from your shoulder and having to accommodate it on the regular.

For gloves and mittens I’d say it depends on the occasion, if you’re going out then leather ones definitely dress you up, if you’re out running errands you can wear some mittens, just make sure that whatever option you choose, they are lined with a comfy and warm fabric like cashmere or fleece to keep your fingers warm.

I rounded-up amazing footwear options here, so if you need more ideas make sure to have a peek. I’m sure you’ll find something 😉
