Fashion File: The Velvet Trend

The velvet trend is going strong and it seems like it’s finally catching up. When I wrote this article I seriously couldn’t find as many items and looks as I can now. Not that 20 is not a lot already, but it’s so easy now to find velvet pieces and accessories across so many retailers and there are so many gals rocking this trend with fabulous looks!

If you feel like you want to give this trend a try I compiled 20 items here with tips on how to wear them, and below you can find great looks for inspiration and personal picks. The more I looked around for velvet pieces the more I kept falling in love with this trend and some of my top picks include this dress, isn’t it gorgeous?, this jacket (so cool), this one (great details!), this top, this blazer, these, these and these. I’m sure that if I keep looking around the list would go on and on so let me just leave it here 😉

Great tees to try: Madewell Velvet Bow-Back Top and Vince Velvet Tee
Velvet Blazers I like: Halogen Velvet Blazer, J.Crew Velvet Blazer and Madewell Velvet Blazer
Love this similar Anthropologie Pleated Velvet Midi Skirt
Isn’t this look great? Love all the textures and color palette! Great Velvet Booties: Club Monaco Zadie Booties, Elva Mirrored Velvet Booties (just $60), Steve Madden Edit Booties, Jeffrey Campbell Cienga Booties
How about two trends in one? Why not try a velvet slip dress over a tee, a combo that I’ve seen on so many stylish ladies, haven’t you? Some faves: Anthropologie Velvet Slip Dress (looove), H&M Silk Blend Slip Dress, Madewell Velvet Slip Dress and Rebecca Minkoff Yoshi Velvet Dress
You could also try velvet loafers like these Vince Bray Loafers or Steve Madden Razzi Velvet Mules
How about velvet pants? Similar ones: these, although I prefer the look of these and this (love it).
