Remember last week when I said that I had a couple of new series starting on the blog? Well, I often get questions about fashion so I thought I’d start a series where you can ask me anything you like and I’ll do my best to get back to you in a post. It can be a general question, a specific question, anything from what to wear to “x” event, to what would you pair with this particular item, anything! So every Friday, if there’s anything you’d like me to write about next week, just let me know in the comments below 🙂
So, to begin the series, I’m getting back at some people who have kindly asked if I could do a little bit more of workwear posts on the blog (sorry for being so late on this!). I think that the best way to start is with the basics, so today, let’s just cover those 9 to 5 essentials, and I’ll get more into each category in the following weeks.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! I have a mountain race tomorrow so I’m pretty pumped 🙂
Button-Down: I love how put together a crisp white button-down looks, but for an equally stylish yet more relaxed look, a silk one is a great option.
Blouse: A good alternative to the classic shirt and a great choice if you’re going somewhere after work.
Silk Cami: I love the chic look of a simple silk cami and a blazer.
Cardigan: Sometimes offices can get pretty cold, so having an extra layer around always comes in handy.
Blazer: A blazer is definitely the piece that brings the whole outfit together and makes you look polished and sophisticated.
Jacket: Cropped jackets are great to pair with shift dresses, and depending on your work environment, you can go with fun embellished ones.
Pants: Well fitting black pants and pencil skirts are basically the foundation of your workwear wardrobe.
Pencil Skirt: Make sure you’re not going with a mini, it should hit just above the knees or below for a sleek and sophisticated look.
Shift dress: Shift dresses are perfect pieces that you can just throw on and forget about everything else while still looking sharp.
Tote Bag: A handbag that is not oversized yet can still fit in all your essentials is key, preeferably in a neutral color.
Dainty Jewelry: I’m not saying that you can’t wear statement pieces, but dainty jewelry can go a long way, and it always looks classic and polished.
Pumps: Of all the shoe styles, pumps are the ones that go perfectly well with anything you wear.
