Definitely a healthier version of cake pops, these frozen chocolate banana bites or pops are delicious, simple, and easily customizable 🙂 I’ve made them twice and they are so satisfying, that a single piece is quite enough to calm down any sweet cravings 😉
What you need:
. Bananas
. Semi-sweet or dark chocolate (I prefer dark chocolate)
. Almond butter (I recently bought this coconut/almond butter at Whole Foods and love it!)
. Garnishes such as unsweetened shredded coconut, hazelnut shavings, almonds…
What to do:
. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
. Place the bananas in the freezer for approx. one hour.
. Melt the chocolate in a pot at low heat and stir constantly until completely melted. If too thick, some coconut oil will thin out the chocolate.
. Remove bananas from freezer, peel and cut into approx. 1 inch slices.
. Spread a small amount of coconut/almond butter on top.
. Insert pop sticks and dip each slice in the melted chocolate, if too thick, then make sure to fully coat them.
. Place them on the baking sheet and sprinkle with desired toppings.
. Freeze until firm (about 2 hours) and that’s it!!
