Food File: Three Easy Recipes to Kick Start your Week in the Right Direction

Happy Monday! I thought I’d start the week with three easy recipes that will guarantee kickstarting your day/week in the right direction! These are three staples I swear by and normally make around here to make sure I stay on track and give my body a healthy dose of nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

While I do get that a bowl of plain oatmeal is not exactly the most exciting meal, if you get a bit creative and “dress-up” your oats, you can end up having a really delicious breakfast. I think it all comes down to the add-ons and if you choose ones with great nutritional value, you’ll guarantee having the best of both worlds. This protein-packed blueberry oatmeal recipe is super easy to make and you can definitely customize it and swap some ingredients according to your personal preferences or diet requirements. I drink almond milk, but you can swap it for regular milk, soy milk, oat milk or any kind you fancy. Same goes with the fruit you add, instead of blueberries you can add bananas, strawberries, peach…It only takes a few minutes to make and there’s basically no prep needed 🙂
I love my greens and could have them in any form, but I do have a go-to green juice recipe that is not only delicious but Matthew-approved. I’d have this at any time of the day, but if you want to kick start your morning in the right direction and give your body an energetic and healthy jumpstart, you can’t go wrong with drinking a glass with your breakfast.
Energy bites are a great pre and/or post workout snack or just a great afternoon pick-me-up when the sugar cravings hit. Since they are the easiest thing to make, I love making a batch every week and having them in the fridge for those moments when I need a quick little bite of something and want to keep it on the healthy side 😉 You can find the recipe of these pictured above right here, and more options here, here and here 😉
