My friend Aylin recently showed me how to give the classic ponytail a fresh and chic look and it’s so easy you won’t believe it. Sometimes it just takes a simple and creative step to turn a basic go-to hairstyle into something more fun. This hack won’t take you more than 5 minutes and I love how it takes this classic hairstyle up a notch. Keep reading to learn how to make this single knot ponytail in 4 easy steps 🙂
YOU’LL NEED:
. Hair straightener if you want to take it to a new level by creating soft waves (as seen on me) or by completely straightening your hair. This one is the one I use and LOVE it.
. 2 bobby pins.
. 1 Hair elastic.
. Hairspray to hold it together. Aylin and I are big fans of Bumble & Bumble Does it All Light Hold Hairspray (does the job without leaving that crunchy texture that’s so awful).
STEPS:
1. Take two small sections of hair on each side of your head and leave them separated from the rest of it.
2. Tie your hair in a ponytail leaving the sections you separated out if it.
3. Bring the two strands or sections you previously separated to the back and tie them into a knot over your ponytail.
4. Bring the ends of the knot under your ponytail and secure them to the hair elastic with two bobby pins. Finish it off with some hairspray to give it a long lasting hold and you’re done!
