So, a little bit late, but as promised, here are some snaps from Mother’s Day. Instead of facing long line-ups and huge crowds, I decided to host brunch at my place and take it easy with the menu. Nothing too elaborated, just some quiches, pastries, fruits, and a salad. I had a lovely afternoon and received beautiful mini orchids from Matthew’s Godmother, fresh tulips from my friend Sara’s own garden, and my friend Daan (Sarah’s husband) even put together two chairs for me, so it was quite a great day if I may say so myself. Can it get better than good company, good food, and fresh flowers? 😉
In terms of decor, I really didn’t plan anything in advance, but tons of leaves from the peonies I bought the day before made it to the table quite nicely (right?). I also placed 3 little vases with one peony each as centerpieces, and wrapped a single flower for my guests. So, lesson of the day: there’s a lot you can do with a big bunch of peonies (leaves included) and some improvisation 😉
So, with this flower heavy post I wish you a great weekend, and to my Canadian friends, hope you have a fantastic long one 🙂
Of course, it all started with some pretty peonies 🙂
Made a single arrangement: one peony per small vase
Used the leaves to fill up some space and add some greenery
I put my hand painted napkins (diy post here) to use with my favorite glasses 🙂
And handed out single peonies wrapped in some craft paper with polka dot washi tape 🙂
PS: In case you’re intrested or wondering: The vases I used were this one from Anthropologie, this one from Target and this one from Indigo / Stemless gold rimmed glasses from West Elm / Napkins are hand painted
