More Than 8 Reasons to Visit Seattle

There’s a lot to see and do around Seattle but if you need some personal recommendations, I’m sharing some of my favourite spots from my recent visit (I’m giving you more than 8 reasons to visit!). I had the opportunity to explore around the city before heading down South to Florida to pick up Matthew earlier this month and I wanted to share with you some of the places I feel are absolutely worth hitting. What I liked the most about the city is how bike-friendly it is, so if you ever plan a trip I’d strongly suggest using a bike as your main form of transportation to get around from one place to another.

Even though I left without visiting some spots I had bookmarked, below are more than 8 reasons to visit Seattle.

WEST EDGE & PIONEER SQUARE: If you start at Occidental Square, stop at Copal, The London Plane, Dry Goods (these three are in Pioneer Square, basically steps away from each other!). Then walk or bike to Moorea Seal, Watson Kennedy (great for gifts, knick and knacks and housewares), Pike Place Market, Seattle Great Wheel, and Old Stove Brewing (has an amazing view of the bay, great spot to grab a drink!) The city is small which makes it great to be either on foot or on wheels (bike wheels that is!)

CAPITOL HILL: Start at Starbucks Reserve to get your caffeine fix, then just a few steps away visit Glasswing, Melrose Market Studios, and Rapha. A bit further up and to the east is Oddfellows (great for brunch), Totokaelo, and Molly Moon’s (amazing ice cream!)

1. Copal – A Mexican spot that nailed both the decor and menu. Definitely a must when in Seattle!

2. Glasswing – This store not only has an amazing selection of unique clothes for both men and women, but an array of plants spread all over that will leave you in awe (they offer plant and floral workshops!)

3. Oddfellows Cafe & Bar – Perched in Capitol Hill, this spacious and unique spot is great for brunch! Whether you sit inside or on their patio, I’m sure you’ll love the atmosphere and food!

4. Totokaelo – This tastefully curated and designed store (just next to Oddfellows!) is a feast to the eyes. They carry a broad selection of luxury brands like Celine, Acne, Rachel Comey and more.

5. Jump Bikes and Centennial Park – One of my favourite ways to get around Seattle was hopping on Jump Bikes. Seattle is such a bike-friendly city that it makes no sense to move around in any other way. The bikes are easy to find (they are owned by Uber so the same app works!), use you’ll love being able to leave them parked anywhere around the city without having to look around for designated parking stations. Just as I loved biking around the city, riding along the water was blissful.

6. Starbucks Reserve – If there’s one place one must visit while in Seattle, is without doubt, Starbucks Reserve (is the home of coffee culture after all!) I wish I had snapped a photo when I visited because besides being massive it’s absolutely stunning inside. Just be prepared to drop more than what you’re normally used to for your coffee. PS: Glasswing is just a few meters away.

7. Moorea Seal – If you like shopping for unique fashion findings and accessories, you’ll love this store. Such a great place to pick up something for yourself or someone else!

8. The London Plane – Well lit and modern, The London Plane is a great place to grab a bite at any time of the day, get your caffeine/sugar fix, or shop for curiosities. They also have a flower shop inside which is incredibly charming.
