The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, one of the biggest sale events of the year (along with the Shopbop Sale), is finally open to the public! The sale runs for two weeks and it’s a great opportunity to snag some Fall items for a limited-time discount price (prices go up after the sale period is over).
Before getting into the things I recommend buying, you should know that for some time now I’ve been wanting to simplify everything in my life, my wardrobe being one of them. It took me a lot of time to realize what I feel the most comfortable in and to accept that I like neutrals, simple silhouettes and basic pieces that can easily mix and match. You can call my style boring (sometimes I feel I’m wearing the same!), but in reality, it is what works for me and what makes me feel good and confident. I have definitely developed an uniform (stripes, eyelet, neutrals, leopard, denim) and at this point in my life, knowing that I rely on these basic pieces and rarely play around with trends (not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just not my style!), I don’t see the point of spending money on things I won’t wear or know that I won’t get much use of them. This accumulation of things that overcrowd your space and at the end doesn’t get any wear is pointless. So with that in mind, the things I’m sharing with you today are timeless staples that you should invest in IF you really need them. Don’t get sucked in a sale for the sake of saving some bucks, spend your money where is worth it. Find the gaps in your closet and make sure that the items you’re adding are pieces that will complete your looks and that won’t need to be replaced. A quality black leather tote, a versatile cross-body, classic black/camel booties, practical flats….these are all closet staples that are worth investing in.
